Having a conversation with one of my homeboys this evening...it posed a question...a question that people seem to no longer ask themselves...Why Settle???...And that right there goes for everything in life...why settle when it comes to your education...when it comes to you school...when it comes to relationships...why do so many people settle...is it because it is the way of society...is it because your parents did the same things...is it because that is the easy way...why would you compromise things that make you who you are...
Work: We will start here as this the easiest and most settled of all things...how many people in this world can say that they are satisfied with their jobs...4 out of 5 of my friends say differently...they don't have careers they have jobs...living paycheck to paycheck not satisfied because it is killing them on the inside...there not happy...they are all either extremely intelligent or extremely artistic but there are in fields that have nothing to do with anything they ever did...situation really is heart breaking cause i am like damn you deserve better you family deserves better but what do you do...when did people start living to society standards...by living the American dream of a nice 9 to 5 Monday Thur Friday working hard at a desk...just hoping that someone higher then you will pay attention to your work and you will move to the next level...
Guess what it is all a lie...most people who do the work get passed over for the Yes man or woman...usually you don't get paid your worth...they aren't forthcoming with the raise that you deserve...expect to be used because they know you will do anything that you can if they hold some money or a promotion over you...That right there is the American way...sorry boys and girls there are just simple numbers and if you break them down...the statistics can be a bit overwhelming...a wise man once said it isn't WHAT you know...it is WHO you know...another simple fact that people can never seem to looks past...For some people this is the dream but for the other 75% of you...maybe you need to think about your future....
Relationships: This is just a sad situation...people who settle because their parents things it appropriate or their friends think it is the right thing to do...heck i know someone who got married not because of love...it was for financial reasons...that is sad...evening among those relationships goes friendships....nothing worse then a forced friendship (if you need more info see earlier blog)...relationships with people because you believe they make you cooler...or even just trying to fit it...is it that hard for people to be themselves...(getting into that next)...why settle for something with someone that isn't a fulfilling experience...be it you heart...your mind...hell even your soul...why would you settle once again for what you believe society wants...do you see where i am going with this...if you do just read on anyways...whatever kind of relationship you are in...should always balance out 50/50...there is nothing else for you to settle on...anything else is pure stupidity...to help someone who doesn't want to help themselves especially after multiple trials are just ridiculous...the exact same goes for someones heart...if they didn't love you before it started...how in the hell are they going to fall in love with you...cupid doesn't exist and if he does i believe he is running match.com so might wanna try there instead if you are looking for that amazing relationship that will cost you some money per month to maintain...lol
You: How people compromise their moral, their intelligence, even their bodies...i will never understand...why would you change who you are for a person or a job...anytime you have to change when there was nothing wrong in the first place you will never ever be happy...nothing you do an make you happy if you cant control yourself...i cant stand when girls are like he will like me more if i lose 30 lbs...or a guy is like if i kiss my bosses but at work for a little while they will look at me for this promotion...that is the most absolute failure if i have ever heard one...if you have to change who you are and your not an actor or a detective you need to rethink your life...funny thing about me is no matter who i am around...no matter who i am talking to...i am always the same...it is why people respect me so much as i never break character for anyone...i am going talk to my peoples the same way i am going to talk to President Obama or Bill Gates cause in my eyes you are a man just like I am...
It amazes me as time goes on people are less and less creative...informed...and just original...i remember when i was in high school those kids were called weird...now they are trendsetting...i remember when music had some originality...now it is called a fad...i remember once upon a time you can dictate who you wanted to be...now you have corporations...when did the artist become the store manager...the rapper became the sandwich maker...when did the college diploma become a piece of paper...I guess the same time when people stopped dreaming and people lost hope...

FRIENDS!!!! The Real Truth!!!!!
FRIEND

1. a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.
There are about seven definition but this is by far the best....Sad thing is that many people know of the word, yet very few understand it...A lot of people think that the friends that have are real friend but nothing more then acquaintances. If you really needed something...nine time out of then they will not be there...or they are not willing to help...And as times go on, friendship is becoming harder to seek out because most people cant be true to themselves let alone another being. Distrust is the worst thing you can have an any friendship yet a lot of people base their friendships on distrust and fronts...Which honestly to me is pure and utter garbage...Why this rant???...Well I am about to break this down and then I want you to look at your people around you and figure our if what you think really exist or you just lost in the mist of drama and other BS.
1.)Lies-This right here is where I am going to start off as it is a good one. A true friend would never lie to you about a situation that you are caught up in...A true friend would only lies not to destroy your feelings...sometimes you need a kick to you hind end but a friend would never destroy you. If that is going on and they do it on a constant...Trash them...and I mean seriously...if you are near a dumpster or a trash can you might want to look into throwing them right into it....
2.)Drama-Stop!!! If a friend ever cause you drama about some he said she said bull...You need to confront them as soon as possible...First they will deny it as people don't like confrontation...Eventually they will break and then say well I didn't see any harm in what was said. They knew exactly what they were doing...Unless that friends is a little bit mentally retarded I don't think that passes...I mean don't get me wrong we have said things at the wrong time by accident and once every great while is okay but if it is happening all the time...don't be an idiot...tell them to kick rocks and on to the next one...
3.)Leechers-My personal favorite cause they are comedy. Always asking for something, not to borrow something or to help them out...they always want stuff to KEEP..They borrow something you never get it back...every time they come around they are needy or there is a favor to ask...you ask them to do something and they are like why would I do that and become petty about it...Feel sorry for no one my life is just as hard as anyone else...get over it grow up and handle your own...they will then get offended then they storm off like a cheesy villain with there plans being foiled by scooby doo and the gang...
4.)The Disappearing Homie-This is the most classic one to me...These are the quote friends who just randomly disappear and reappear in you life...The kind that goes to a party and leaves without saying bye...or better yet he is your ride and he leaves you at the party...Often they will hit the button when you call or don't respond back to text...hey are not in particularly bad but it isn't a healthy relationship...I mean you don't have to talk to your friends every day but not speaking to them for months at a time and you all didn't lose touch...yeah let it go...They must have better things to do or something...True friends always hit you even just to say whats up or talk about some really stupid stuff that happened or a new song they heard...I am not a phone person to be honest but I keep in touch with people...
5.) The Faker-The worst of the worst kind of friend. They are what you see in the high school movies or what you deal with in high school possibly. The friends who are only your friends behind close doors. When they see you out in public they avoid you at all cost...and if someone else was to see them talking to you they would make up an excuse...or they talk about you to that person...yet in all reality you always have conversations with them and they care but they have a quote rep to keep and you aren't part of it...It is amazingly sickening especially when you are grown...Sad thing is that a lot of people put up with this...I mean it goes on everywhere (work place, parties, gatherings, performances, etc) To be honest if you really want to see this type of friendship in person watch; Don't Buy Me Love, Breakfast Club, or any 80's teen movie for that fact of the matter...If someone doesn't want to be seen or noticed with you...only person you are hurting is yourself...Because you are lying to yourself...really don't you lie to yourself about enough...honestly...
Now back to the matter at hand, you are like wait wait but where are the good friends list...True friends exist under one category and it is just that...A TRUE Friend!!!!...True friends don't have categories...they are the person you call when you car is broke down and you are three hours away...they are the person you call when you need out of jail...true friends when called come quicker to your rescue then the super friends...hell they even come to your rescues when you aren't even sure that you need to be rescued...true friends are there...my true friends I have had for years...well most and to be a 100% honest i would take a bullet for them...I have friends who I have know for 20+ years and i would do everything for them...hell i go some new people in my small circle right now that I would go to war for...I don't ask question...I don't ask for anything in return...They just know because they would go to the same lengths for me...People tell me all the time I don't understand you and such and such...and I just shake my head and laugh...I would feel sorry for them but it is there issue that they don't have true friends...my friends are more then that...they are my family...i would introduce them as my family...ya know even if we lose touch...when we meet up again...you would swear we never missed a beat...the little things are just that little and they would never come between that relationship...you brush that off and move along...Think about it...for you true friends how far would you go for them...better yet how far would they go for you...Do they actually help you or do they hinder you...Do they come thru when needed...or they like leaves in the breeze...In a day where most people are about as really as a girls chest in a porno movie you need to beware of those around you...Now I am not saying Trust No One...Life isn't the Thing or Total Drama Island...you have to trust otherwise you wont get anywhere...but if your circle of friends and i mean close circle is more then twenty then you need to question your circle...My circle is decent sized but I mean they have been accumulated over a life time...If you find yourself questioning your relationship with said person...you need to roll them out like a virgin at a strip club...because you are only kidding yourself if you believe things are going to pop off...well they might just not the way you want them...
Oh yeah by the way you want to know what kind of friend I am...lol...well if you are lucky then you already know...if you are not...well...you will be alright...
